Select The Topics You Want To Cover This exam is mainly for B.Tech (Biotech), M.Sc. (Biotech) and M.Sc.( Bioinformatics) students But the syllabus is very diverse so first select the topics that cover at least 40% of whole syllabus
For Part A in which 50 compulsory questions are to be attempted the basic knowledge of your last 2- 3 year preparation (B-Tech / M.Sc. Syllabus) is sufficient. You first need to prepare those topics on MCQ basis especially which are typical theoretical topics like unit 7 genomics & proteomics, and unit 8 IPR, Biosafety & Bioethics.
For Part B in which 50 out of 150 are to be attempted from your specialized field but you should be aware here. These 150 questions are being asked from 10 different fields and preparing only one specific field may be risky. So our suggestion is to have a glance over other field also especially if you find comfortable in some other areas.
The 10 field are
- Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
- Neuroscience
- Molecular and Human Genetics
- Medical Biotechnology
- Marine Biotechnology
- Environmental Biotechnology
- Bioinformatics & Computational Biology
- Tech. Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology
- Animal Biotechnology
- Agricultural Biotechnology:
Say NO to New topic during exam days–Student must not study any new topic in the last weeks. It would bring unnecessary anxiety and can disturb your overall preparation. You should instead keep on honing the previously practiced topics and solve mock test papers.
